Frequently asked questions

What issues do you work with?

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, burnout, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions and neurodivergence-related experiences. You don't need to fit neatly into any category—you're welcome to bring whatever feels important to you.

What if I'm just being over-dramatic and my problems aren't actually that serious to need therapy?

This is one of the most common things I hear. Many people have been told throughout their lives that they're "too much", "too sensitive", or that other people have it worse. You've probably been thinking about getting therapy for ages and kept talking yourself out of it.

You don't have to be in crisis for counselling to be worthwhile. Sometimes people come because everything has become too much. Other times, life has simply slowed down enough for them to realise how hard they've been working just to get through each day.

If something is having an impact on your life, your relationships or your wellbeing, then it's important enough to talk about. You don't need to justify needing support or compare your experiences with anyone else's.

If you're wondering whether your problems are "serious enough", it's probably worth having a conversation. We can work that out together.

How do sessions work?

Sessions last 50 minutes and are available weekly or fortnightly, depending on your needs and availability. We work at your pace, with regular reviews to make sure therapy continues to feel helpful.

Is everything confidential?

Yes — except for a few rare circumstances. I discuss my work in confidential supervision, and I may need to share information if there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, or if I’m legally required to do so. Wherever possible, I would always aim to discuss this with you first.

What happens in the consultation call?

This is an opportunity for you to tell me what's brought you to therapy and what you hope to get from it. It's a chance for you to ask me any questions you might have, and for us to get to know each other and see if we're a good fit for working together. There's no pressure to share everything right away.

Where do sessions take place?

At the moment I work mostly online but I'm also able to meet in person in Walthamstow, E17

What if I don't know where to start? There's just so much on my mind it feels like a big jumble!

Start anywhere you like - you don't need to come to therapy having it all worked out already. Even if it feels to you like your thoughts are all over the place, I can usually keep up and help you to untangle them and make sense of things.
